A Message from our Founder

Amelia Ryan

Hello there!

I'm thrilled you're here. I'm going to avoid the ever-so-awkward 'talking about myself in the third person' and just talk straight to you.

Sound ok? Great. Let's steam ahead.

I'm Amelia - the creative force behind AMPLIFIED ASSEMBLY. I'm a performer, writer, producer, curator, and coach, and my total jam is bringing stories to life in a meaningful and masterful way. It lights me up and is the driving force behind everything I do.

I've been touring my self-penned shows around Australia and the world since 2011, working with incredible collaborators, and connecting with beautiful, diverse, and delightful audiences.

AMPLIFIED ASSEMBLY is the result of my many pursuits and passions. A company on a mission to move the world - and its people - through its work. Be it through shows, events, workshops, curation - the end game is the same. We want to leave our artists and audiences feeling connected.

The world needs it, right?

You can learn more about me through my personal website below, and please don't hesitate to reach out if you'd like to chat about what we do here at AMPLIFIED.

On a final note - creating shows for me is all about collaboration - with audiences and fellow creatives. It's magic. Below is a list of all our incredible collaborators over the years. The teamwork is everything!

PROFESSIONAL BIO

Amelia Ryan is a multi-award-winning Cabaret Artist, Writer, Curator, Coach, and Mum.

A Musical Theatre Actress by trade (Victorian College of the Arts), she swapped ‘song &
dance’ for ‘comedy & cabaret’, when she realised her ability to do a time-step (or ANY
step) paled in comparison to her knack for cracking a quip.
Since co-winning the 2012 Your Theatrics International Cabaret Contest, her critically acclaimed shows have traversed the Australian cabaret circuit, as well as New York City, London, and the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, playing to 5-star reviews and standing ovations.

In 2019 Amelia received the Adelaide Cabaret Festivals inaugural ‘Frank Ford
Commission’ (selected by Artistic Director Julia Zamiro) and created UNSUNG - an
homage to Australia’s female singers from the 1960s and 1970s. It’s a loud and proud celebration of Australia’s pioneering women of pop and rock, and is co-performed with Libby O’Donovan. It's touring Australia in 2021-2023, represented by NCM.

In 2021, Amelia and her husband Zac Tyler (Release Creative), along with Torben & Richelle Brookman (GWB Entertainment) launched THE QUEENS; Adelaide Fringe's newest Fringe Hub, in mainland Australia's oldest theatre. It was a central hub for all things music and cabaret, and certainly lived up to 'Fringe At Its Finest'.

In addition to running her production company, AMPLIFY Haus, Amelia is a mindset and performance coach, and in 2020, launched The Cabaret Lab; a
development space for performing artists in the craft of cabaret and self-devised work. She is extremely passionate about helping emerging artists harness the humour, heart, and soul of cabaret.
